Subscription and your data
The trial, what happens if the subscription lapses or the app is uninstalled, and when data is deleted.
Who: administrators, and Jira site administrators for anything done in Jira's Manage apps.
During the trial
People who manage settings see a banner for the whole trial: calm at first, then a reminder in its last week. Each can be dismissed.
If the subscription becomes inactive
LogQuill becomes read-only: everyone can still see everything, export reports and read the audit log, but nothing can be logged or changed. A notice says so, with how long before the data is deleted, and opens again whenever someone tries to change something. Jira site administrators can renew from Jira's Manage apps; others are told to ask one. Renewing makes the app writable again at once. API keys keep reading, but can't write either.
The Jira sync keeps running meanwhile, so nothing is missed when you renew. No emails go out, except the deletion notices below.
If the app is uninstalled
Your data is kept, in case you reinstall: reinstalling picks up where you left off. Administrators get an email right away.
Two things go at once all the same:
- People's names, email addresses and pictures, except those of the administrators (who get the emails below). A reinstall brings them back from Jira.
- Every API key. People make new ones after a reinstall.
If LogQuill stops hearing from your site for two days (the app was disabled, for example), it treats it as uninstalled and emails the administrators. The next time anyone opens the app, it's back to normal.
When data is deleted
60 days after the app is uninstalled, or after the subscription became inactive, everything LogQuill stores for your site is deleted. Administrators (whoever can manage people and roles) are emailed when the 60 days begin, a week before, and the day before. Reinstalling or renewing before then keeps everything.
After the deletion, opening the app shows that the data was deleted, and when. Renewing starts again from an empty site: people and worklogs are brought back in from Jira, but anything that lived only in LogQuill (plans, timesheets and their reviews, teams, settings, reports) is gone.
What is stored, and other retention periods, are in the privacy policy.
