LogQuill

Audit log

Everything done in LogQuill, by whom, to whom, when, and what changed from what to what.

Who: people with Read the audit log (administrators by default). Open Audit log in the sidebar.

Every change made in LogQuill is recorded: worklogs and plans, timesheets and their reviews, teams, roles, settings, fields, accounts, reports and their sharing, API keys, and what the app did on its own (syncs, emails). Changes made directly in Jira and brought in by the sync are recorded too, marked as made in Jira.

  • Dates: any range of days.
  • Areas and Actions: for example time tracking, or "worklog updated".
  • Done by and Affecting: who made the change, and whose time or settings it touched.
  • Teams and projects.
  • Search: names, values, reasons, issue keys and project names.

Export

Export CSV downloads what the filters show: when, area, action, who did it, whom it affected, the team, a summary, the changes, the details, and whether it was made in LogQuill or in Jira.

How long it's kept

Events are kept for 6 months. On the 1st of each month, everything older is deleted for good. A reminder to export it goes out by email a week before to everyone who can read the audit log, if Jira shares their email address. The Retention part of the page shows the next deletion, who gets the reminder and who doesn't, and Show what will be deleted.

Under Also send it to, add up to 10 other addresses for the reminder: a shared inbox, or someone without a Jira account. Anyone who can read the audit log can change them, and each change is in the audit log. The reminder holds only the dates and how many events go, no audit data. Everyone gets the same email, each address once.
